Description

Uses:

XM Beta 50mg Tablet contains Metoprolol Tartrate, a beta-1 selective blocker used for:

• Managing high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Treating angina (chest pain)

• Reducing the risk of heart attacks in certain patients

• Managing irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)

It works by slowing down the heart rate and reducing the heart’s workload, helping maintain normal blood pressure and heart function.

Dosage & Administration:

• The usual dose is 50mg once or twice daily, as prescribed by a doctor.

• Take with or immediately after food to improve absorption.

• Swallow the tablet whole, do not crush or chew.

• Dose adjustments may be required in patients with kidney or liver problems, or in elderly patients.

Common side effects:

• Fatigue or tiredness

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Mild nausea or stomach upset

• Cold hands and feet

Rare but serious side effects:

• Slow heartbeat (bradycardia)

• Severe low blood pressure

• Not recommended for patients with severe heart block, cardiogenic shock, or uncontrolled heart failure.
