Description

Uses:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure): Provides effective dual therapy to reduce elevated blood pressure.

• Heart failure (selected cases): Reduces strain on the heart.

• Prevention of cardiovascular complications: Lowers the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage related to uncontrolled hypertension.

How It Works:

• Amlodipine (5mg): A calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels, improving blood circulation and reducing blood pressure.

• Lisinopril (5mg): An ACE inhibitor that prevents narrowing of blood vessels, lowers fluid retention, and reduces stress on the heart.

• Together, they provide a complementary effect in controlling blood pressure and protecting heart and kidney health.

Dosage & Administration:

• Usually taken once daily, with or without food.

• Should be taken at the same time each day for consistent results.

• Dosage must be adjusted based on individual needs.

• Do not stop suddenly without guidance.

Side Effects:

Common:

• Headache, dizziness, fatigue

• Swelling of ankles/feet (edema)

• Dry persistent cough (due to lisinopril)

• Flushing or palpitations

Serious (rare):

• Angioedema (swelling of lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing)

• Severe drop in blood pressure or fainting

• Kidney dysfunction (low urine output)

• Hyperkalemia (high potassium – weakness, irregular heartbeat)

Precautions & Warnings:

• Not suitable for use in pregnancy, history of angioedema, or severe kidney disease.
