Description

Diapride DM 2 Forte Tablet is a triple combination anti-diabetic medicine formulated for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It combines Dapagliflozin (10mg), Glimepiride (2mg), and Metformin (1000mg) — three potent agents that work synergistically to maintain optimal blood glucose levels and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.

  • Dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, helps lower blood sugar by promoting the removal of excess glucose through urine.

  • Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin, improving the body’s ability to utilize glucose.

  • Metformin, a biguanide, reduces glucose production in the liver and enhances insulin sensitivity, thereby improving glucose uptake by tissues.

This combination targets multiple pathways of glucose control, making it ideal for patients not adequately controlled with dual therapy. It also helps prevent long-term complications such as neuropathy, nephropathy, cardiovascular issues, and retinopathy.

Uses:

  • Treatment and management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Controls both fasting and postprandial (after-meal) blood sugar levels

  • Helps prevent diabetes-associated complications

  • Improves insulin efficiency and metabolic balance

Dosage:

  • Take the dose as prescribed by your doctor, based on blood sugar levels and treatment response.

  • Usually taken once daily, preferably with food to minimize stomach irritation and reduce hypoglycemia risk.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or break it.

  • Take it at the same time each day for consistent blood sugar control.

  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s nearly time for the next one. Do not double doses.

How to Use:

Take Diapride DM 2 Forte Tablet with meals or as directed by your physician. Follow a balanced diet, regular exercise routine, and monitor your blood sugar regularly for the best results. Continue taking the medicine even if you feel well — stopping it abruptly can cause your blood sugar to rise.

Precautions:

  • Avoid alcohol as it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis and low blood sugar.

  • Not suitable for Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

  • Use cautiously if you have kidney, liver, or heart disease.

  • Stay hydrated, as Dapagliflozin may cause increased urination and dehydration.

  • Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms of urinary or genital infections.

  • Always keep a sugar source handy to manage low blood sugar episodes.

  • Consult your doctor before using during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
