Description

Dapavel S 5/50 Tablet is a dual-combination anti-diabetic medicine used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It combines Dapagliflozin (5mg), an SGLT2 inhibitor, and Sitagliptin (50mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, to provide a comprehensive approach to blood sugar control.

  • Dapagliflozin helps lower blood sugar by blocking glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, causing excess sugar to be excreted via urine.

  • Sitagliptin enhances the body’s natural incretin hormones, stimulating insulin release after meals and reducing glucose production in the liver.

This combination targets both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels, improves insulin efficiency, and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients. It is generally used along with diet and exercise, and may be prescribed alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medications.

Uses:

  • Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Helps maintain steady blood glucose levels

  • Reduces risk of heart failure and other cardiovascular issues

  • Supports weight management

  • Improves insulin secretion and glucose utilization

Dosage:

  • Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible, unless it is near the next scheduled dose. Do not double doses.

  • Dose adjustments may be needed depending on blood glucose levels and response to treatment.

How to Use:

Take Dapavel S 5/50 Tablet at the same time each day for consistent blood sugar control. Combine with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and routine blood glucose monitoring. Continue taking the medication even if your blood sugar appears normal unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
