Description
Uses:

Controls high blood pressure (hypertension)

Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels

Hydrochlorothiazide removes excess salt & water

Helps reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney complications
Dosage:
-
Usually one tablet daily
-
Dose adjusted as per BP response
-
Do not stop without doctor’s advice
How to use:
-
Take at the same time every day
-
Can be taken with or without food
-
Drink enough water during the day
-
Regular BP and electrolyte monitoring recommended
Precautions:
-
Avoid in pregnancy (Telmisartan is unsafe)

Caution if you have kidney/liver problems
-
May reduce potassium or sodium — blood tests may be needed
-
Avoid alcohol as it may add to BP lowering
-
Can cause dizziness—avoid driving initially
-
Not recommended in severe dehydration
Side effects:

Dizziness, low BP
-
Frequent urination
-
Weakness
-
Low potassium/sodium levels
-
Headache
-
Dry mouth
-
Muscle cramps
-
Increased uric acid (may worsen gout in some)
