Description

Uses:
Olkem 40 AM Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a single medicine. Proper control reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

How it Works:

Olmesartan Medoxomil (ARB) relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II.
Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) widens blood vessels by reducing calcium entry into the vessel walls.
Together, they provide effective and long-lasting blood pressure control.

Dosage:
Take the tablet exactly as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.

How to Use:
Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Precautions:

Do not use during pregnancy
Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease, heart conditions, or dehydration
Regular blood pressure monitoring is advised
Inform your doctor if you experience severe dizziness or swelling

Side Effects:
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, flushing, ankle swelling (edema), and fatigue. These usually improve as your body adjusts. Consult your doctor if side effects persist or worsen.
