Description

DAILYGLIM 2 Tablet is an oral antidiabetic medication (sulfonylurea class) used for managing type 2 diabetes in adults, to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels when diet, exercise, or other agents alone are insufficient.

Uses / Indications

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Used to control elevated blood sugar in adults; may be prescribed alone or with other antidiabetic medicines.
Helps reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications such as kidney damage, blindness, neuropathy, cardiovascular disease, and limb loss with regular use and good sugar control.

How it Works / Key Benefits

Glimepiride increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and improves the body’s response to insulin, thus lowering blood glucose.
Contributes to long-term diabetes management as part of a treatment plan including diet and exercise.

Dosage & Administration

Typically 2 mg once daily, just before or with the first main meal (usually breakfast).
Swallow tablet whole with water; take at the same time each day for consistent control.
Never double dose if a dose is missed; take the next tablet at its scheduled time.
Do not stop abruptly; stopping suddenly can cause dangerous increases in blood sugar—change dose only on doctor’s instructions.

Safety & Side Effects

Common: Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), nausea, headache, dizziness, weakness; less commonly, weight gain or slight GI upset.
Alcohol or missed/delayed meals increase hypoglycemia risk—keep a source of quick sugar handy and avoid alcohol.
Not suitable for type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe kidney/liver dysfunction.
Monitoring: Regular blood sugar checks are essential; periodic kidney/liver function and blood counts may be advised.
