Description

DAILYGLIM-1000 SR Tablet is a prolonged-release metformin tablet for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, designed to improve glycemic control with fewer gastrointestinal side effects compared to immediate-release forms.

Uses / Indications

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: For adults to improve blood sugar control, especially where diet, exercise, and/or other agents are insufficient.

• Can be used alone (monotherapy) or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines or insulin as directed by a healthcare provider.

Dosage & Administration

• Starting dose (maintenance/transfer):

  • For those switching from lower doses: Titrate up from 500 mg SR daily.

  • For those stabilized on 1000 mg: One tablet once daily with the evening meal.

• Individually titrate: Dose may be increased in 500 mg increments every 10–15 days, guided by blood sugar response and tolerability.

• Maximum dose: 2000 mg once daily; if further control needed, can split as 1000 mg twice daily with meals.

• Swallow whole—do not crush or chew; take at the same time of day each day, always with food.

Safety & Precautions

• Common: Nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain—usually mild and transient.

• Serious/rare: Lactic acidosis (seek urgent medical attention if deep/rapid breathing, vomiting, fatigue, confusion occur).

• Not for type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney/liver disease, or if GFR <30 ml/min.

• Annual kidney function monitoring advised, more often in elderly or at-risk patients.

• May need vitamin B12 monitoring for long-term users.
