Description

Monocef-O 100 DT Tablet contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil, an oral third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is commonly prescribed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The “DT” (Dispersible Tablet) form allows it to be dissolved in water, making it easier for children and elderly patients to take.

Uses

  • Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Ear infections (otitis media)

  • Community-acquired pneumonia

  • Gonorrhea and other STIs

  • Infections of the throat and tonsils

How It Works

Cefpodoxime Proxetil is converted into Cefpodoxime in the body after absorption. It works by binding to bacterial cell wall proteins and inhibiting the synthesis of the cell wall, which causes bacterial death. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
