Description

DAPZIGARD-10 VDM FORTE Tablet is a triple-action oral antidiabetic for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, indicated when blood sugar control remains inadequate with single or dual therapy.

Uses / Indications

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Controls high blood sugar in adults, especially in moderate-to-severe diabetes or when dual therapy is insufficient.

• Lowers risk of diabetes complications—such as kidney, eye, nerve, heart, and vascular damage—and may reduce risk of cardiovascular death in diabetics with heart disease.

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Dapagliflozin: SGLT2 inhibitor, promotes urinary glucose excretion, lowering both fasting and post-meal blood sugar and supporting weight/BP reduction and heart/kidney protection.

• Vildagliptin (SR): DPP-4 inhibitor—prolongs incretin activity, increases insulin release, suppresses excessive liver glucose production, enhances post-meal control.

• Metformin (SR): Reduces liver glucose output, increases insulin sensitivity, lowers gut glucose absorption; the sustained release provides smooth, all-day effect with reduced GI upset.

• Triple mechanism delivers broader and more robust sugar control than monotherapy or dual therapy alone.

Dosage & Administration

• Take one tablet daily with food, always as directed by your physician.

• Swallow whole—do not chew, crush, or split.

• Maintain good hydration, regular meals, and do not miss doses; abrupt discontinuation can result in poor sugar control and greater complication risk.

• Not suitable for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe kidney/liver impairment, or type 1 diabetes.

Safety & Side Effects

• Common: Vaginal/genital yeast infections, increased urination, nasopharyngitis, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, URTI, flatulence, mild hypoglycemia (especially with sulfonylureas/insulin).

• Occasional/serious: Lactic acidosis (persistent vomiting, rapid breathing—seek urgent care), dehydration, severe infection, allergic reaction.

• Good hygiene and fluid intake lower infection risk; regular sugar/kidney monitoring is essential.
