Description

Telmaxx 25 Tablet ER is a combination medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains:

  • Telmisartan (40mg) – an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

  • Metoprolol Succinate (25mg) – a beta-blocker that slows down the heart rate, reduces strain on the heart, and improves blood pressure control.

Together, they work to reduce high blood pressure, protect the heart, and lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and related cardiovascular complications.

Uses

  • Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

  • Prevention of heart attack and stroke

  • Management of chronic heart failure (in some cases, as prescribed by doctor)

  • Protects heart health in patients with hypertension and diabetes

Dosage

  • Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

  • Usually taken once daily, with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water — do not crush or chew as it is an extended-release (ER) tablet.

  • Take at the same time each day for better results.

Possible Side Effects

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

  • Fatigue or weakness

  • Slow heartbeat (bradycardia)

  • Cold hands and feet

  • Headache

  • Nausea or stomach upset

Rare but serious: chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling in feet/ankles, or severe dizziness. Seek immediate medical attention if these occur.

Precautions

  • Inform your doctor if you have asthma, COPD, diabetes, thyroid problems, kidney or liver disease, or heart conditions.

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Avoid sudden discontinuation — stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen heart conditions.

  • Limit alcohol consumption, as it may increase drowsiness or dizziness.

  • Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and kidney function is advised.
