Description

Ornamac 200mg/500mg Tablet is a combination antibiotic containing Ofloxacin (200mg), a fluoroquinolone, and Ornidazole (500mg), a nitroimidazole. This combination is used to treat mixed bacterial and protozoal infections, particularly in the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems.

• Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing bacterial replication.

• Ornidazole disrupts DNA in anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, enhancing the antimicrobial spectrum.

Common Uses:

• Gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea, dysentery)

• Genitourinary infections

• Mixed aerobic and anaerobic bacterial infections

• Protozoal infections

Key Information:

• Take with or after food to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.

• Complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve.
