Description

Polyclav-DS Dry Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin (400mg/5ml) and Clavulanic Acid (57mg/5ml). Amoxycillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxycillin from enzymatic degradation.

This formulation is particularly suitable for children and adults who have difficulty swallowing tablets, as the dry syrup can be reconstituted to form a palatable oral suspension. Polyclav-DS is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, ENT infections, and skin or soft tissue infections, particularly those caused by beta-lactamase producing bacteria.

Common Uses:

  • Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

  • Ear, nose, and throat infections (otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis)
