Description
Uses:
Acetec Capsule is used to treat severe psoriasis and other keratinization disorders of the skin. Acitretin helps normalize the growth of skin cells, reducing scaling, redness, and thickening of the skin. It is particularly effective for patients with extensive or stubborn plaques not responding to topical therapy.

Take only as prescribed by a physician. The typical adult dose is 10-25 mg once daily, depending on the severity of the condition and patient response. Dosage adjustments may be required based on liver function and treatment response.
How to Use:
Swallow the capsule whole with water, preferably after meals. Avoid breaking, crushing, or chewing the capsule. Regular monitoring of liver function, lipid profile, and pregnancy status is advised during treatment.
Precautions:
-
Acitretin is strictly contraindicated in pregnancy. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception during and after treatment (for at least 3 years).
-
Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can increase toxicity.
-
Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or lipid metabolism disorders.
-
Do not donate blood during treatment and for at least 3 years afterward.
Side Effects:

Dryness of lips, skin, or eyes
-
Hair thinning, itching, or mild rash

Rarely, liver toxicity, elevated cholesterol/triglycerides, or bone/muscle pain
Additional Information:
Acitretin is a systemic retinoid that regulates skin cell growth. It is effective in severe, chronic skin conditions when topical therapies are insufficient. Regular medical follow-up is essential to monitor side effects and treatment effectiveness.
