Description

Uses

• Throat infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

• Sinus infections

• Ear infections

• Lung infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Skin & soft tissue infections

• Typhoid fever (in some cases)

• Certain sexually transmitted infections

Dosage

• Typical adult dose: 500mg on Day 1, then 250mg daily on Days 2–5
  (or as directed by your doctor).

• Can be taken with or without food, but with food if stomach upset occurs.

How to Use

• Swallow whole with water.

• Take at the same time each day.

• Complete the entire course; do not stop early.

Precautions

• Avoid if allergic to macrolides (azithromycin, erythromycin).

• Inform doctor if you have liver disease, heart rhythm problems (QT prolongation), or are on antacids.

• Do not take aluminum/magnesium antacids within 2 hours of the dose.

• Use cautiously in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
