Description

Uses:
Azulix 0.5 MF Tablet PR is used to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
It contains:

• Glimepiride: increases insulin release from the pancreas.

• Metformin: reduces sugar production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.

This combination helps control blood sugar when diet, exercise, or single therapy is not enough.

Dosage:

• Usually once or twice daily, depending on doctor’s advice.

• Best taken with meals to avoid stomach upset and low sugar.

How to Use:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush or chew (PR = prolonged release).

• Take it regularly at the same time every day.

• Follow diet and exercise plan for better control.

Precautions:

• Monitor blood sugar frequently.

• Inform your doctor if you have kidney/liver issues or if you consume alcohol.

• Avoid excessive alcohol—may increase risk of lactic acidosis (from Metformin) or low sugar (from Glimepiride).

• Not advised during pregnancy unless prescribed.

Side Effects:

• Low blood sugar (glimepiride): sweating, shaking, hunger, dizziness

• Nausea, vomiting

• Diarrhea (metformin)

• Headache

• Stomach discomfort

• Metallic taste
