BENDEX – 400

Description

Bendex 400 Tablet is an anthelmintic (anti-worm) medicine manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It contains Albendazole 400mg, a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug widely used to treat intestinal worm infestations and related infections.

Albendazole works by blocking the uptake of glucose by parasitic worms, leading to a depletion of their energy source. This process causes the worms to stop growing, lose their ability to survive, and eventually die. The dead worms are then eliminated naturally from the body through stools.

Uses of Bendex 400 Tablet

• Treatment of roundworm, whipworm, pinworm, and hookworm infections

• Management of giardiasis (infection caused by Giardia lamblia)

• Treatment of neurocysticercosis (tapeworm infection affecting the brain, caused by Taenia solium)

• Management of hydatid disease (caused by Echinococcus granulosus)

• Effective in treating multiple worm infestations in both adults and children

Dosage & Administration

• Adults & Children (>2 years): 400 mg as a single dose for intestinal worms (as prescribed).

• For neurocysticercosis or hydatid disease, longer treatment courses may be required under medical supervision.

• Can be taken with or without food, but taking with a fatty meal improves absorption and effectiveness.

• Always follow the doctor’s instructions for dosage and duration.

• Not recommended in pregnant women unless clearly needed.
