Description
BUDEcort 0.5mg Respules contain Budesonide, a corticosteroid used for the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by reducing inflammation and swelling in the airways, making it easier to breathe. These respules are used with a nebulizer to deliver the medicine directly into the lungs, providing fast and effective relief from breathing difficulties, wheezing, and coughing.
Uses:
-
Long-term management of asthma
-
Treatment and prevention of COPD symptoms
-
Reduces airway inflammation and improves breathing efficiency
How to Use:
BUDEcort Respules are meant for inhalation through a nebulizer only. Do not swallow or inject the liquid. Empty the contents of one respule into the nebulizer chamber and inhale the mist through the mouth as directed by your doctor. Rinse your mouth and face thoroughly after use to prevent irritation and oral fungal infection (thrush).
Dosage:
The usual recommended dose is one respule (2ml) once or twice daily, or as prescribed by your physician. The dosage may vary depending on the patient’s age, condition, and response to treatment. Do not stop the medication abruptly without consulting your doctor.
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have tuberculosis, liver disease, diabetes, infections, or osteoporosis. Avoid exposure to people with contagious infections like chickenpox or measles. This medicine is not meant for immediate relief of asthma attacks — keep a rescue inhaler handy for emergencies. Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women under medical supervision.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, dry mouth, nasal congestion, and oral thrush (fungal infection). Rinsing your mouth after each use helps minimize these effects. Seek medical help if you experience worsening breathing problems, chest tightness, or allergic reactions.
