Description
BUDEcort 100 Inhaler is a corticosteroid inhaler used for the prevention and long-term management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains Budesonide, which works by reducing inflammation, irritation, and swelling in the airways, making it easier to breathe. Regular use helps prevent asthma attacks and control symptoms like wheezing, coughing, and chest tightness.
Uses:
-
Prevention and control of asthma symptoms
-
Maintenance treatment of COPD
-
Reduces airway inflammation and prevents bronchospasm
How to Use:
Shake the inhaler well before each use. Exhale fully, place the mouthpiece in your mouth, and press the inhaler while inhaling deeply and slowly. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then exhale slowly. Rinse your mouth with water after every use to prevent throat irritation and oral fungal infection (thrush).
Dosage:
The usual dose is 1–2 inhalations twice daily, or as directed by your physician. Do not exceed the prescribed dose and do not stop treatment abruptly, as it may worsen breathing problems.
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have tuberculosis, infections, liver disease, diabetes, or osteoporosis. Avoid contact with people who have contagious infections such as chickenpox or measles. This inhaler is not for emergency relief during acute asthma attacks — use a rescue inhaler for sudden symptoms. Use with caution in pregnancy or breastfeeding under medical guidance.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, dry mouth, and oral thrush (fungal infection). Rinsing the mouth after each use helps reduce these effects. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience worsening asthma, difficulty breathing, or allergic reactions.
