Description
BUDEcort 200 Rotacap is a corticosteroid medicine used for the prevention and management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains Budesonide, which works by reducing inflammation and swelling in the airways, making it easier to breathe. Regular use helps prevent asthma attacks and controls symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and breathlessness.
Uses:
-
Long-term prevention and control of asthma symptoms
-
Management of COPD and chronic airway inflammation
-
Helps reduce airway swelling and prevents breathing difficulties
How to Use:
BUDEcort 200 Rotacap is meant to be used only with a Rotahaler device. Do not swallow the capsule. Insert the Rotacap into the Rotahaler, inhale deeply through your mouth, hold your breath for a few seconds, and exhale slowly. Always rinse your mouth with water after inhalation to prevent throat irritation and fungal infection (oral thrush).
Dosage:
The usual recommended dose is one Rotacap twice daily, or as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose and do not stop using the medicine suddenly without medical advice.
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have tuberculosis, liver disease, diabetes, infections, or osteoporosis. Avoid exposure to people with contagious infections like chickenpox or measles. This medicine is not a rescue medication — use a fast-acting inhaler for sudden asthma attacks. Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding under medical supervision.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, dry mouth, and oral thrush (fungal infection). Rinsing your mouth after each use helps minimize side effects. Seek medical help immediately if you experience worsening breathing, chest pain, or allergic reactions.
