CIPVILDIN-M 50/1000 Tablet is a combination oral anti-diabetic medicine produced by Cipla Ltd, formulated for the effective management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Each tablet contains two proven ingredients—Vildagliptin (50mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride (1000mg), a biguanide. This dual-action therapy helps achieve improved blood sugar control, especially in patients whose diabetes is not managed adequately with diet, exercise, or monotherapy.
Vildagliptin works by enhancing the activity of incretin hormones, which increase glucose-dependent insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion, resulting in better regulation of blood sugar after meals. Metformin complements this action by decreasing glucose production in the liver, improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, and slowing down the absorption of glucose from the intestines.
