Description

DAILYGLIM 1 Tablet is an oral antidiabetic from the sulfonylurea class, used to control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Uses / Indications

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Dailyglim 1 is prescribed to lower blood glucose in adults whose diabetes isn’t controlled by diet and exercise alone.

• May be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines (such as metformin or insulin) as advised by a doctor.

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin and improves the body’s use of insulin, thereby reducing blood sugar.

• Helps reduce the risk of diabetes complications like neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, heart disease, and limb loss.

Dosage & Administration

• Do not skip meals, and always monitor blood sugar regularly.

• Never double the dose if a tablet is missed—just take the next dose at the usual time.

Safety & Side Effects

• Common: Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia—symptoms: sweating, shakiness, hunger, confusion), headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness.

• Occasional: Weight gain, mild GI upset, anemia, rash.

• Precautions: Not for type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney/liver disease, or those with a history of drug allergy to sulfonylureas.

• Alcohol increases the risk of low sugar—should be avoided.

• Doctor may monitor liver and kidney function while on glimepiride.
