Description

DANSOFORD-100 Capsule (Danazol 100 mg) is a synthetic steroid (androgen derivative) used for several hormone-related conditions, most commonly for female reproductive and immunological disorders.

Uses / Indications

• Endometriosis: Suppresses tissue growth and inflammation outside the uterus. Effective in reducing pelvic pain, heavy or irregular periods, pain during intercourse, and fertility issues caused by endometriosis.

• Fibrocystic breast disease: Relieves breast pain and tenderness, helps shrink benign breast lumps when other treatments fail.

• Hereditary angioedema (HAE): Prevents or reduces frequency of attacks of swelling in hands, feet, face, airways, or intestines.

• Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), heavy menstrual bleeding, and menstrual pain: Used in specific cases for symptom control.

• Rare/other: Occasionally used in chronic refractory immune thrombocytopenia or other bleeding disorders as directed.

How it Works / Key Benefits

• Antigonadotropic and anti-estrogenic: Reduces production of estrogen and pituitary hormones (FSH, LH), shrinks endometrial and breast tissue, stabilizes menstrual cycles.

Dosage & Administration

• Typically 100–200 mg one to three times daily for 3–9 months in endometriosis (can vary); higher doses for immunological indications.

• Swallow capsule whole with water, take at same time daily, with or without food.

• Not for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or severe liver/kidney/cardiac disease.

Safety & Side Effects

• Common: Weight gain, acne, oily skin, hair loss, deepened voice, irregular periods, decreased breast size.

• Occasional: Blood clots, liver dysfunction, headache, mood changes, muscle cramps, allergic reaction.

• Monitoring: Regular checks of blood counts, liver function, and hormone levels required; effective contraception mandatory in women.

• Discontinue if pregnancy occurs and inform doctor of all concurrent medication use due to interactions.
