Description

Derek L Capsule SR is a combination medicine used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acidity, heartburn, indigestion, and functional dyspepsia. It contains:

  • Levosulpiride (75mg): A prokinetic agent and dopamine receptor antagonist. It improves gastric motility, enhances stomach emptying, reduces bloating, and relieves nausea and vomiting.

  • Rabeprazole (20mg): A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid secretion, providing long-lasting relief from heartburn, acid reflux, and irritation of the stomach lining.

This combination ensures better control of reflux symptoms, improved digestion, and protection from acid-related damage.

Uses

Derek L Capsule SR is prescribed for:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

  • Acidity and heartburn

  • Functional dyspepsia (indigestion, bloating, upper abdominal discomfort)

  • Gastric and duodenal ulcers

  • Nausea, vomiting, and reflux-related discomfort

  • Prevention of acid-related damage in long-term medication use (e.g., NSAIDs)

Benefits

  • Provides long-lasting relief from acidity and reflux.

  • Improves gastric motility, reducing bloating and fullness.

  • Promotes faster stomach emptying.

  • Helps in the healing of ulcers and erosions.

  • Improves overall digestive comfort and quality of life.

Side Effects

Possible side effects include:

  • Headache or dizziness

  • Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, or abdominal pain

  • Drowsiness or sleep disturbances (rare, from Levosulpiride)

Seek medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain, irregular heartbeat, or abnormal movements.

Precautions

  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only if prescribed by your doctor.

  • Kidney/liver disease: Dose adjustment may be required.

  • Take on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before meals.

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.
