Description

Flucort Skin Cream is a topical corticosteroid formulation containing Fluocinolone acetonide (0.025% w/w). It is used for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions by reducing swelling, redness, itching, and irritation. The cream formulation allows smooth application, making it suitable for non-hairy skin areas.

This medication is effective for mild to moderate dermatological conditions requiring corticosteroid therapy.

Uses

• Treatment of eczema and atopic dermatitis

• Relief from allergic skin reactions

• Management of seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis (mild to moderate)

• Reduction of itching, scaling, and redness in various inflammatory dermatoses

• Supportive therapy in lichen planus and contact dermatitis

Dosage & Directions for Use

• Apply a thin film of the cream over the affected area 1–2 times daily or as prescribed

• Gently massage into the skin until absorbed

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes

• Do not use on face, groin, or underarms unless directed by a doctor

• Duration of treatment should be short-term to prevent side effects

Possible Side Effects

Common:

• Mild burning, stinging, or irritation at the application site

• Skin dryness or itching

Serious (with prolonged or excessive use):

• Thinning of the skin (atrophy)

• Stretch marks (striae)

• Skin discoloration

• Increased susceptibility to infections

• Rare systemic effects (hormonal imbalance) if absorbed into the bloodstream
