Description
FORAcort 100 Rotacap is a combination medicine used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains Formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles for easier breathing, and Budesonide, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. Together, they help prevent symptoms like wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.
Uses:
-
Long-term control and prevention of asthma symptoms
-
Maintenance therapy in COPD
-
Helps prevent airway constriction and inflammation
How to Use:
Use the Rotacap only with a Rotahaler device. Do not swallow the capsule. Place one Rotacap in the Rotahaler, twist, and inhale deeply through the mouth. Hold your breath for a few seconds before exhaling. Always rinse your mouth with water after inhalation to avoid fungal infections like oral thrush.
Dosage:
Typically, one Rotacap is inhaled once or twice daily, as advised by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or stop using the medicine abruptly without medical consultation.
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, liver problems, or tuberculosis. Use cautiously during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This medicine is not suitable for treating sudden asthma attacks — always keep a rescue inhaler for emergencies.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, headache, nausea, tremor, and oral fungal infection. Rinsing the mouth after each use helps prevent infection. Seek medical advice if you experience irregular heartbeat, chest pain, or worsening breathing problems.
