Description

FORMOnide 200 Capsule is a combination inhalation therapy in capsule form containing Formoterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA), and Budesonide, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). This formulation is intended for maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), helping to control inflammation and keep airways open for improved breathing.

  • Budesonide reduces inflammation, swelling, and mucus production in the lungs, preventing flare-ups and worsening of symptoms.

  • Formoterol relaxes airway muscles, providing long-lasting bronchodilation and reducing symptoms such as wheezing, breathlessness, and chest tightness.

  • The capsule form is designed for use with a dry powder inhaler (DPI) device, ensuring precise delivery of medication directly to the lungs.

Uses of FORMOnide 200 Capsule

  • Asthma (mild to moderate): Long-term management and prevention of attacks

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Improves airflow and reduces exacerbations

  • Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction: Prevents breathing difficulties during physical activity

  • Other chronic inflammatory airway diseases as prescribed by a healthcare provider

How It Works

  • Budesonide: Reduces airway inflammation by suppressing immune responses and decreasing mucus and swelling.

  • Formoterol: Activates beta-2 adrenergic receptors, relaxing bronchial smooth muscles and widening the airways.

  • Combined, they provide dual-action therapy, managing both underlying inflammation and bronchoconstriction.

Dosage and Administration

  • Typically 2 inhalations twice daily, or as prescribed by a doctor.

  • Load the capsule into a dry powder inhaler (DPI) device, pierce it, and inhale deeply and steadily.

  • Hold breath for a few seconds after inhalation and exhale slowly.

  • Rinse mouth after use to prevent oral thrush and irritation.

  • Not intended for rescue use; a short-acting inhaler should be kept available for sudden symptoms.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

  • Throat irritation or cough

Serious side effects (rare):
