Description
Glimda 3 Tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine manufactured by Cipla Ltd, containing Glimepiride 3mg as its active ingredient. It belongs to the sulfonylurea class of drugs and is primarily used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, particularly when lifestyle changes (diet and exercise) alone are inadequate for blood sugar control.
How it Works:
Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin. It acts on pancreatic beta cells, resulting in increased insulin secretion, which enables the body’s cells to absorb and utilize glucose more efficiently. This mechanism effectively lowers elevated blood glucose and helps prevent long-term complications of diabetes such as kidney disease, nerve damage, and vision loss.
