About Glycomet Trio 1/0.3 Tablet SR

Glycomet Trio 1/0.3 Tablet SR is a triple combination anti-diabetic medicine used to control Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults.
It helps regulate blood sugar levels more effectively when diet, exercise, and dual drug therapy are not enough.
This formulation provides comprehensive glucose control by targeting different aspects of diabetes — insulin secretion, insulin sensitivity, and carbohydrate absorption.

How It Works

This medicine contains three active ingredients that work synergistically:

  • Glimepiride (1mg): A sulfonylurea that increases insulin secretion from the pancreas.

  • Metformin (500mg): A biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver and enhances insulin sensitivity.

  • Voglibose (0.3mg): An alpha-glucosidase inhibitor that slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar after meals.

The sustained-release (SR) formulation provides a steady release of medicine throughout the day, ensuring long-lasting blood sugar control.

Uses

  • Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Controls fasting and postprandial (after-meal) blood sugar levels

  • Reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications like neuropathy, nephropathy, and retinopathy

Directions for Use

  • Take the tablet once daily with food, preferably with breakfast or as advised by your doctor.

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.

  • Monitor blood sugar and HbA1c levels regularly.

  • Take the tablet at the same time each day for best results.
