Ismo 20 Tablet
Marketer: Abbott
Salt Composition: Isosorbide Mononitrate (20mg)
30.0 tablets in 1 strip
Description
Ismo 20 Tablet is a nitrate-based medicine primarily used for the prevention and long-term management of angina pectoris (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). By relaxing and widening blood vessels, it helps reduce the workload on the heart and ensures better oxygen supply to the cardiac muscle. This prevents episodes of angina and improves exercise capacity in patients with coronary artery disease.
Uses
-
Prevention of stable angina (chronic chest pain due to blocked heart arteries)
-
Management of angina pectoris caused by coronary artery disease
-
Adjunct therapy in congestive heart failure (CHF), as prescribed
-
Improves exercise tolerance in patients with reduced cardiac output
How It Works
Isosorbide Mononitrate works by releasing nitric oxide, a natural vasodilator. This action relaxes smooth muscle in blood vessel walls, leading to widening of veins and arteries. The result is reduced preload and afterload, lowering strain on the heart and improving oxygen delivery to the myocardium (heart muscle).
Benefits
-
Prevents frequent angina attacks
-
Improves blood circulation to the heart muscle
-
Reduces chest pain severity and frequency
-
Enhances overall heart performance and quality of life in cardiac patients
