Description
Ketoscalp is a medicated topical lotion containing ketoconazole 2% w/v, an antifungal agent. It is primarily prescribed for the treatment and prevention of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp—conditions caused by fungal overgrowth (Malassezia species). It may also be used for other fungal skin infections of the scalp as clinically indicated.

Mechanism of Action
Ketoconazole disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to cell death. With regular application, it eliminates the fungus and relieves associated symptoms like itching, scaling, or burning.
Directions for Use

For external use only: Apply a small amount to the affected part of the scalp and massage gently until absorbed.

Frequency: Usually 2–3 times per week, as prescribed by your doctor.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes; rinse thoroughly if it gets into these areas

Use for the full treatment duration, even if symptoms improve early, to reduce risk of recurrence.
