LEGOMONT-FX

Description

LEGOMONT-FX combines montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist) and fexofenadine (a second-generation non-drowsy antihistamine) for synergistic and comprehensive relief of allergy symptoms.

Clinical Uses

• Allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial): Relieves nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery/red eyes, and sinus pressure.

• Allergy-induced symptoms: For dust, pollen, mite, and pet allergies.

• Chronic urticaria (hives): Reduces itching and swelling.

• Coexisting mild asthma with allergic rhinitis (prevents airway spasm and inflammatory responses; not for acute asthma attacks).

Mechanism of Action

• Montelukast: Blocks leukotriene action, reducing airway/congestion inflammation and allergy symptoms.

• Fexofenadine: Blocks histamine H1 receptors, countering sneezing, itching, and runny nose—without significant drowsiness.

Dosage & Use

• Usual dose: 1 tablet once daily, taken with or without food; swallow whole.

• Use at the same time each day for continuous symptom control.

Common Side Effects

• Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue—mostly mild and temporary.

• Montelukast: Rarely mood changes, sleep disturbances (monitor if psychiatric history).

Precautions & Safety Advice

• Caution in severe kidney/liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and with other sedatives.

• Avoid antacids (aluminum/magnesium) within 2 hours of dosing; may lower fexofenadine absorption.

• Do not use for acute asthma crises
