Description
Levomac 250 Tablet contains Levofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the fluoroquinolone class. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and killing the infection-causing organisms.
It is prescribed for various bacterial infections such as those affecting the urinary tract, lungs, skin, and gastrointestinal tract. This medicine is not useful against viral infections like flu or common cold.
Uses of Levomac 250 Tablet

Respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bladder infections

Skin and soft tissue infections

Gastrointestinal infections, including traveler’s diarrhea and typhoid fever

Ear, nose, and throat infections caused by bacteria

May also be used in some drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) regimens under specialist supervision
How to Use

Take the medicine as directed by your doctor.

Usually taken once or twice daily, with or without food.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water — do not crush or chew.

Take it at the same time every day for best results.

Complete the full course, even if you feel better. Stopping early may cause the infection to return or become resistant.
Side Effects
Common side effects:

Serious but rare side effects:

Tendon pain or rupture (especially in elderly or those on steroids)

Precautions

Avoid taking with antacids, iron, or multivitamins within 2 hours (they reduce absorption).
