Description

Uses:

• Controls high blood sugar in Type-2 Diabetes.

• Helps improve insulin release after meals.

• Reduces sugar production from the liver and improves sugar utilization.

• Lowers risk of diabetes-related complications like nerve issues, kidney problems, and heart disease.

Dosage:

• Usually one tablet once or twice daily depending on doctor’s advice.

• Take with food to reduce stomach upset (because of Metformin).

• Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.

• Continue diet and exercise as advised.

How to Use:

• Take at the same time daily.

• If you miss a dose, take it soon—but skip if it’s almost time for next dose.

• Do not double dose.

Precautions:

• Avoid if you have kidney disease, severe infection, dehydration, or heart failure unless doctor approves.

• Inform doctor if you consume alcohol regularly (Metformin + alcohol may cause lactic acidosis).

• Not recommended in type-1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

• Check blood sugar frequently.

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, low blood sugar (rare if taken alone).

• Serious but rare: Lactic acidosis—symptoms include tiredness, stomach pain, muscle pain, fast breathing (needs urgent medical care).

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling) may occur.
