Description

Uses:

• Used for Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.

• Sitagliptin increases insulin release and reduces glucagon after meals.

• Extended-release Metformin lowers liver glucose output and improves insulin sensitivity.

• Helps prevent long-term complications like kidney, nerve, and heart problems.

Dosage:

• Generally once daily, as advised by the doctor.

• Must be taken with food to reduce stomach discomfort.

• Swallow whole—do not break or chew the tablet.

How to Use:

• Take at the same time daily for best sugar control.

• If you miss a dose, take it when remembered. If near the next dose time, skip the missed one.

• Never double the dose.

Precautions:

• Avoid in severe kidney disease, metabolic acidosis, or dehydration.

• Limit alcohol—may increase lactic acidosis risk.

• Notify doctor if you have heart failure, liver disease, or vitamin B12 deficiency.

• Not meant for type-1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, gas.

• Occasional: Headache, low blood sugar (more likely with insulin/sulfonylureas).

• Rare but serious: Lactic acidosis, pancreatitis (severe abdominal pain), allergic reactions (rash, swelling).
