Description
Monocef-O 50 Oral Suspension is a pediatric antibiotic formulation containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin. It is specially designed for infants and young children, offering effective treatment against a wide range of bacterial infections. After reconstitution with water, each 5ml of suspension provides 50mg of Cefpodoxime Proxetil.

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections – pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis

How It Works
Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a prodrug that gets converted into Cefpodoxime after absorption. It works by blocking bacterial cell wall synthesis, causing the bacteria to weaken and die.

Administration

Reconstitution: Add the prescribed amount of clean, boiled, and cooled water to the bottle. Shake well until the powder dissolves.

Dosage: Based on child’s age, body weight, and severity of infection, strictly as advised by the doctor.

Storage: Keep the reconstituted suspension refrigerated and use within the duration mentioned on the label (usually 7–14 days). Shake well before each use.
