Reactin 75 Injection

Description

Reactin 75 Injection contains Diclofenac Sodium 75mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It is given by intramuscular injection for rapid relief of acute pain and inflammation when oral therapy is not suitable.

Diclofenac works by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis, which helps control pain, swelling, and fever.

Uses

Reactin 75 Injection is prescribed for:

• Acute musculoskeletal pain (back pain, sprains, post-traumatic pain)

• Severe joint pain (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis)

• Acute gout attacks

• Post-operative pain and inflammation

• Renal colic and biliary colic

• Severe menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)

• Migraine attacks (severe cases)

Dosage

• Usual adult dose: 75mg intramuscularly once daily.

• In severe cases, a second dose may be given after 12 hours (not exceeding 150mg/day).

• Duration of therapy: short-term use only (1–2 days), then switch to oral/rectal forms if needed.

• Must be administered by a trained healthcare professional.

• Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort

• Headache, dizziness

Serious (rare):

• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers

• Avoid alcohol (increases stomach bleeding risk).

• Not recommended in pregnancy (especially 3rd trimester) or breastfeeding unless prescribed.

• Should be used only under medical supervision in hospital/clinic settings.
