Description
Rosugard 40 Tablet is a high-strength cholesterol-lowering medicine manufactured by Cipla Ltd. It contains Rosuvastatin (40mg), one of the most potent statins used in the treatment of severe hyperlipidemia (very high cholesterol levels) and in patients at high risk of cardiovascular events. This dose is usually prescribed when lower doses (5mg, 10mg, or 20mg) fail to provide adequate cholesterol control.
How It Works
-
Rosuvastatin (40mg): Inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, the key enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver.
-
Reduces LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides, while increasing HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).
-
Helps prevent plaque build-up in arteries, reducing the chances of atherosclerosis, heart attack, and stroke.
Medical Uses

-
Management of mixed dyslipidemia (high LDL + high triglycerides + low HDL)
-
Prevention of major cardiovascular events in high-risk patients (with diabetes, hypertension, smoking, obesity, or family history of heart disease)
