Description
Seroflo 500 Rotacap is a combination inhalation medicine used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains Salmeterol, a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles, and Fluticasone Propionate, a corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation. Together, they help improve airflow, prevent asthma attacks, and relieve symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.
Uses:
Used in the long-term management of asthma and COPD. Helps reduce airway inflammation, prevent bronchospasms, and improve overall lung function with regular use.
How to Use:
Use the Rotacap only with a Rotahaler device. Do not swallow the capsule. Place one Rotacap in the Rotahaler, twist, and inhale deeply through your mouth. Hold your breath for a few seconds before exhaling slowly. Always rinse your mouth with water after use to avoid throat irritation or oral fungal infection.
Dosage:
Dosage is determined by your doctor based on the severity of your condition. Usually, one Rotacap is inhaled twice daily. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or stop treatment suddenly without consulting your physician.
Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have tuberculosis, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, diabetes, or liver problems. Use with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This medicine is not suitable for treating sudden asthma attacks — always keep a quick-relief inhaler for emergencies.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include throat irritation, hoarseness, cough, headache, nausea, and fungal infection in the mouth (oral thrush). Rinsing your mouth after each use helps reduce these effects. Seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or worsening breathing difficulties.
