Suprox SR Tablet

Description

Suprox SR Tablet contains Isoxsuprine (40mg) in a sustained-release (SR) form. Isoxsuprine is a vasodilator that relaxes the smooth muscles of blood vessels, thereby improving blood circulation and oxygen delivery. In obstetrics, it is also prescribed for uterine relaxation to manage complications during pregnancy.

Uses / Indications:

• Peripheral vascular disease – improves blood flow in conditions like arteriosclerosis and Raynaud’s disease

• Cerebrovascular insufficiency – helps in conditions with reduced brain circulation causing dizziness, memory issues, or weakness

• Gynecology/Obstetrics:

  • Threatened miscarriage (to help relax the uterus)

  • Premature labor (to delay preterm delivery)

• Not suitable for patients with recent heart attack, severe bleeding disorders, or very low blood pressure.

• Avoid alcohol as it can worsen dizziness and low blood pressure.

• Inform your doctor about any other ongoing medicines, especially for heart, BP, or blood-thinning.

Possible Side Effects:

• Headache, dizziness, or lightheadedness

• Nausea, vomiting, or stomach upset

• Flushing or warmth in face/neck

• Rapid heartbeat or palpitations (in some cases)

• Drop in blood pressure (rare but possible)

• Allergic reaction: rash, itching, swelling – seek immediate medical help
