Description

Thyronorm 88mcg Tablet contains Thyroxine (Levothyroxine Sodium), a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone. It is prescribed for the management of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland), a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones. By supplementing the body with thyroid hormone, it helps restore normal metabolism, energy levels, and growth regulation.

Composition:

• Thyroxine (88mcg) – replaces or supplements natural thyroid hormone to normalize body functions.

Indications / Uses:
Thyronorm 88mcg is prescribed for:

• Hypothyroidism (all forms, including primary, secondary, and tertiary)

• Goiter (enlarged thyroid gland)

• Thyroid cancer management (as part of suppressive therapy)

• Post-thyroid surgery or radioiodine therapy

• Supporting normal growth and development in children with thyroid deficiency

How It Works:
Thyroxine works by restoring adequate thyroid hormone levels in the body. This regulates metabolism, energy utilization, and protein synthesis, while also maintaining normal growth, brain development, and body temperature.

Dosage & Administration:

• Take once daily on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning, at least 30–60 minutes before breakfast.

• Swallow with water; avoid tea, coffee, or milk immediately after intake.

• Dose is individualized based on thyroid hormone levels (TSH, T3, T4) and patient response.

• Consistency in timing and method of intake is crucial.

Side Effects:
