Description

Diapride DM Tablet is a triple combination anti-diabetic medicine used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It contains Dapagliflozin (10mg), Glimepiride (1mg), and Metformin (500mg) — three agents that act via different mechanisms to control high blood sugar levels and improve glycemic balance.

  • Dapagliflozin (an SGLT2 inhibitor) helps the kidneys remove excess glucose through urine.

  • Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells.

  • Metformin (a biguanide) reduces liver glucose production and enhances insulin sensitivity.

Together, they provide comprehensive control of fasting and post-meal blood sugar, reduce insulin resistance, and help prevent diabetes-related complications such as nerve damage, kidney issues, heart disease, and vision problems.

This fixed-dose combination is ideal for patients who require multi-drug therapy after inadequate response to monotherapy or dual therapy.

Uses:

  • Treatment and long-term management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Controls fasting and postprandial glucose levels

  • Helps reduce risk of cardiovascular and renal complications

  • Improves glycemic control in adults not controlled by Metformin or Glimepiride alone

Dosage:

  • Dosage is individualized based on blood glucose levels and medical history.

  • Usually taken once daily, preferably with meals.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water—do not crush or chew.

  • Maintain consistent timing daily for optimal results.

  • If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible unless it’s close to the next dose. Do not double doses.

How to Use:

Take Diapride DM Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Always take it with food to avoid stomach upset and low blood sugar. Continue your prescribed diet plan and exercise regimen alongside regular monitoring of blood glucose levels.

Precautions:

  • Avoid alcohol consumption, as it may trigger hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis.

  • Not suitable for Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

  • Use cautiously in patients with kidney, liver, or heart disease.

  • Inform your doctor before any surgery or contrast imaging.

  • Stay well hydrated, as Dapagliflozin can increase urine output and risk of dehydration.

  • Carry a sugar source (glucose or candy) in case of hypoglycemia.

  • Use in pregnancy or lactation only under medical supervision.
