Description

Main Uses
AMlong 10 Tablet is mainly prescribed to:

  • Control high blood pressure (hypertension)

  • Prevent chest pain (angina)

  • Reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart-related complications

By lowering blood pressure, it helps protect vital organs like the heart, brain, and kidneys and improves overall cardiovascular health.

How It Works:

  • Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker.

  • It relaxes and widens blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the heart’s workload.

  • This results in lower blood pressure, less chest pain, and better oxygen supply to the heart.

Dosage:

  • Usually taken once daily, at a fixed time each day.

  • The dosage depends on the patient’s blood pressure and response to treatment.

  • Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor, as it may cause a sudden spike in blood pressure.

How to Use:

  • Take the tablet by mouth with water, with or without food.

  • Swallow it whole — do not crush or chew.

  • Continue taking it regularly even if you feel fine; blood pressure control needs consistent treatment.

Precautions:

  • Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, heart failure, or low blood pressure.

  • Avoid alcohol, as it can increase dizziness or drowsiness.

  • Stand up slowly from sitting or lying positions to avoid lightheadedness.

  • Use with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Follow a healthy diet, limit salt intake, and exercise regularly for best results.

Side Effects:
Common:

  • Swelling of ankles or feet

  • Headache

  • Dizziness or tiredness

  • Flushing (warm feeling)

  • Palpitations (mildly fast heartbeat)

Serious (rare):

  • Worsening chest pain or irregular heartbeat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Severe allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
