Description

Uses:

• Used to manage Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus.

• Sitagliptin enhances insulin release after meals and lowers glucagon levels.

• Extended-release Metformin reduces liver glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.

• Helps prevent long-term complications such as neuropathy, nephropathy, and heart disease.

Dosage:

• Usually once daily, as directed by your doctor.

• Always take with food to reduce gastric side effects.

• Swallow whole—do not crush, chew, or split.

How to Use:

• Take at the same time every day for stable sugar control.

• If you forget a dose, take it when remembered. If close to next dose, skip the missed dose.

• Do not take two doses together.

Precautions:

• Avoid in severe kidney impairment, metabolic acidosis, or dehydration.

• Limit alcohol intake—can increase lactic acidosis risk.

• Caution in liver disease, heart failure, and vitamin B12 deficiency.

• Not suitable for type-1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, gas.

• Sometimes: Headache, low blood sugar (especially if used with insulin or sulfonylureas).

• Rare but serious: Lactic acidosis, pancreatitis (severe abdominal pain radiating to back), allergic reactions.
