LIPVAS 40 Tablet, manufactured by Cipla Ltd, contains Atorvastatin (40mg) as its active ingredient. It belongs to the class of medicines known as statins (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) and is prescribed for patients who require a higher dose of cholesterol management to reduce cardiovascular risk.

Atorvastatin in LIPVAS 40 works by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for cholesterol production in the liver. This action decreases the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL – Low-Density Lipoprotein) and triglycerides, while raising good cholesterol (HDL – High-Density Lipoprotein). By controlling cholesterol levels, it helps prevent fatty deposits (plaques) in the arteries, improving blood flow and lowering the chances of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular complications.
