Nicip MD Tablet

Description

Nicip MD Tablet is a mouth-dissolving formulation of Nimesulide 100 mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Unlike conventional tablets, it dissolves quickly on the tongue without the need for water, offering fast pain relief and convenience for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

It is mainly prescribed for the short-term treatment of pain, fever, and inflammation.

Uses

Nicip MD is commonly used for:

• Acute pain relief (musculoskeletal pain, backache, sprains, strains)

• Arthritis-related pain and swelling (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis)

• Migraine and tension headaches

• Post-operative pain

• Dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps)

• Fever when conventional antipyretics are not effective

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Usually one tablet (100 mg) twice daily after meals, or as prescribed.

• Place the tablet on the tongue, allow it to dissolve, and swallow without water.

• Duration of therapy: Short-term use only (not beyond 10–15 days).

• Not recommended for children below 12 years.

• Diarrhea, abdominal pain, acidity

• Headache, dizziness

• Skin rash

Serious (though rare):

• Liver toxicity (most important risk)

• Gastric ulcer, bleeding

• Allergic reactions (swelling, difficulty breathing, severe rash)

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with liver disease, kidney failure, peptic ulcers, or bleeding disorders.

• Avoid in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless prescribed.

• Should not be taken with alcohol or other NSAIDs/paracetamol without medical advice.

• Use only for acute pain relief, not for long-term treatment.

• If used beyond a few days, liver function tests may be required.
