Description

Olmesar CH 40 Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains Olmesartan Medoxomil (40mg), an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB), and Chlorthalidone (12.5mg), a diuretic (water pill). Together, they lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and removing excess salt and water through urine. This reduces strain on the heart and decreases the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

How to use:
Olmesar CH 40 Tablet can be taken with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. Since it contains a diuretic, avoid taking it close to bedtime (within 4 hours) to prevent frequent urination at night. Continue taking it regularly as prescribed, even if you feel well, because untreated hypertension can silently damage your heart, kidneys, and blood vessels.

Possible side effects:
Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, weakness, taste changes, or upset stomach. It may also increase levels of uric acid, lipids, or potassium in the blood, and in some cases, affect kidney or liver function. Most side effects are temporary and improve with continued use, but consult your doctor if they persist or cause discomfort.

Precautions:

  • Alcohol: Unsafe; may increase dizziness and drowsiness.

  • Pregnancy: Unsafe; proven risk to the developing baby. Use only under medical supervision in exceptional cases.

  • Breastfeeding: Probably unsafe; small amounts may pass into breast milk and harm the baby.

  • Kidney/Liver problems: Use with caution; not recommended in severe kidney or liver disease. Dose adjustment may be required.

  • Driving: Avoid if you experience dizziness, blurred vision, or drowsiness.

Missed dose:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and resume your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
