Description

Damita M 10/500 Tablet ER combines Dapagliflozin (an SGLT2 inhibitor) with Metformin (a biguanide). This fixed-dose combination is prescribed for type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and monotherapy are insufficient. Dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar by increasing urinary glucose excretion, while Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and enhances insulin sensitivity. The extended-release (ER) form ensures better gastrointestinal tolerance and allows once-daily dosing.

Uses / Indications:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Reduces risk of long-term diabetes complications such as neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, heart attack, and stroke

• May increase risk of urinary tract infections and genital fungal infections due to dapagliflozin.

• Metformin may very rarely cause lactic acidosis; report symptoms like extreme tiredness, shortness of breath, or abdominal pain immediately.

• Avoid excessive alcohol use.

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.

• Common: stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, headache, increased urination
