Description
Mactor F Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. It helps lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “bad” cholesterol), total cholesterol, triglycerides, and increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL or “good” cholesterol). This reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other complications related to atherosclerosis (narrowing of blood vessels).
How It Works
-
Atorvastatin (10mg): Belongs to the statin class of medicines. It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) that is necessary for the body to make cholesterol, thereby lowering cholesterol levels in the blood.
-
Fenofibrate (160mg): Belongs to the fibrate group of medicines. It lowers triglycerides and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) by increasing the breakdown of fats. It also helps raise HDL cholesterol levels.
Together, these two medicines improve the lipid profile more effectively than either medicine alone.

-
Treatment of high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)
-
Management of high triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia)
