NOXITEF-TZ is a dual-action tablet containing Norfloxacin (fluoroquinolone antibiotic) and Tinidazole (antiprotozoal and antibacterial), supplied in blister packaging. This combination is especially effective in treating gastrointestinal and urinary infections where both bacteria and protozoa may be present, including mild to moderate cases of diarrhea, dysentery, and stomach infections.

How it Works

• Norfloxacin blocks bacterial DNA gyrase, inhibiting DNA replication in bacteria and leading to their elimination.

• Tinidazole damages the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, killing these pathogens and clearing infection.

• Together, they broaden antimicrobial coverage, providing rapid and effective relief for digestive and urinary tract infections.

• Treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery, and severe stomach infections caused by susceptible bacteria and protozoa.

Dosage & Administration

Safety & Precautions

• Common side effects: nausea, metallic taste, dry mouth, headache, upset stomach, dizziness.

• Avoid alcohol, as it increases risk of stomach irritation and excessive drowsiness.

• Not recommended for those allergic to either component, or with a history of tendon rupture, severe neurological disorders, liver/kidney dysfunction, or myasthenia gravis.

• Inform doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all ongoing medications before starting.

• Do not use in patients with blood in stools or severe constipation; consult doctor immediately if diarrhea lasts more than 48 hours or for severe symptoms.

• May increase systemic exposure of Norfloxacin when taken with Tinidazole; careful monitoring is necessary for potential side effects.

• Watch for allergic reactions, tendon pain, numbness, or tingling; seek medical help if severe or persistent side effects develop.
